I apologize for not sending out a blog post last week.  This post is about what we did last Monday and I will post another one about today!

In keeping with our class inquiry into towers we examined a picture of downtown Calgary and we noticed that some towers are tall and some towers are short.  Next we used numbers to 10 to create a city of skyscrapers!

First we practiced printing numbers 1-10 on our whiteboards.

Next each child got 10 cards, each with a number from 1-10.  They had to print each number and then create a tower that was that many blocks high.

We were practicing number recognition, number printing, counting with one to one correspondence and creating sets of objects!

They demonstrated perseverance to create 10 towers of various heights,
counting and recounting, and being patient as they got knocked down several times!  You can see how hard we were working!

We were very proud of our towers!

We had so much fun creating our skyscrapers!
