Every day our Kindergarteners enter the classroom and get straight to work on various tasks that we put out for them.
On Mondays these tasks always have a math focus.  Some of our greatest learning sometimes takes place in the first 20 minutes of our day!

Today our Kindergartens were pattern making extraordinaires!

They are noticing patterns EVERYWHERE and many of them were so excited to find a pattern on their clothes today.

We read a story about a noisy man who made a LOT of sound patterns as he was walking along.  We said the sound patterns and put actions to the patterns.
Last week we focused on ABABAB patterns using two colours or objects.
This week we worked on three colour patterns (ABCABC).

The morning class also made some tricky patterns!
The afternoon class will get to this next week!
Ask your child to make some patterns for you!  They can make patterns with their toys, their food, or their bodies (clap, stomp, jump).
If your child is struggling with patterns that have three parts (ABCABC) practice at home making patterns together!

In the gym we played a new game with hoops where we had to work together and cooperate.

As always, we had a great time at centre time.

Have a wonderful week and stay warm!
