Today was all about the number 9!

We love coming up with many ways to make numbers!

Today was also all about the farm!  After a lengthy discussion about our field trip tomorrow we brainstormed all the different animals that we thought we might see!

The morning class solved this problem:

The barn door at the farm was left open and 9 animals got out!  Which 9 animals are out in the farmyard?

We all had different answers and different ways of showing our work.  Here are some samples of our work...

The afternoon class solved a similar but slightly different open ended problem...

You went to the farm and saw 9 animals in their pens.
Which animals did you see?

Here is some of our work...

Our chicks have grown SO much!

Today we noticed that their legs and combs are much bigger and are turning an orange/red colour.  Their yellow down is getting thinner and they are growing many white feathers now.

They are getting tall and they even try to jump out of their home now!  So, we know that they are ready to go to their new home at the farm!

We are so excited about our field trip tomorrow.  Fingers crossed for sunshine all day!

Please check your child's mail folder for details about what your child needs to bring tomorrow and for drop off and pick up times.

We are going to have a FARMtastic time!
