Happy Monday!

Today we were busy, as always, working on math tasks as we settled into our school day.

At carpet time we read Chicka Chicka 123 and talked about the numbers as they climbed the apple tree.

Next we all worked together at the carpet as we practiced printing numbers 

1-6 on our whiteboards. 

We loved doing this and it was exciting to hear comments such as 'look at my number 2!', 'I couldn't write a number 3 and now I can!'.

After working on printing, we rolled an electronic dice on our smartboard and wrote the number down on our whiteboards.

Next we worked in partners to play Lucky Roll.  This is a favorite game every year in our kindergarten room.  Children take turns rolling a dice and writing the number they roll onto a graph.  The number that reaches the top first wins!

We were practicing number recognition, counting, number printing and graphing all in one game!

After a busy carpet time we had snack, centres and gym.  Here are some highlights from centre time today!

At the end of our day we even managed to get all our winter gear on and out the door!!!  Not an easy task this early in the school year!  Please remember to always label hats, mittens, scarves, snowpants and coats so that we can be sure everything makes it back home!
